  • Amazing build, was wondering if instead of the 3rd passive radiator, a bass tube or bass port could have created more bass? Not an expert but maybe thought for experimentation, what do you know about this? Thanks!

  • i put two 6" JBL car speakers, a 10" 350w sub, a car stereo, a very compact amp for the sub, in a box not much bigger than that, a bit deeper (def way heavier), each speaker isolated from the other of course, no batteries though, it has a 50A 12v power supply usually used for LED lighting, no noise whatsoever (i tried a 12v 6a power brick but it didn't have near enough power) one 1.5" port hole for each 6" speaker, two for the sub (each using a pvc pipe, the sub ones are longer) i'm underusing the power of the speakers i got, but that's as loud as i can get in such a small box and without messing with electronics, just wires it's not water resistant but it's definitely sun proof lol, it can handle direct sunlight all day, car speakers are tough

  • That's awesome, the only thing I would of done differently is to tongue and groove the bottom and top pieces instead of simply gluing them together; it would ensure a better hold and make it less likely to come apart if it was ever dropped or had a sudden impact.

  • The small jack to connect the 36V supply to the box is far too small for the current involved. They are usually limited to 1 to 2 amps of current.

    DemefDemef14 dager siden
  • With 3 pin power barell connector you will be able to use batteries and power cord at same time. Properly connected connector shut down batteries when you plug in the cord. Great job anyway!!!

  • man what a really good project. looks really good. i just entered competition and with a prefab box im at 44.6. (two 400 rms 12s on a really good amp ) not much, i know but for my first setup its alright. under $500 too. im still new to the audio world but i know a few things anyway, i hate to say this but the sound quality is pretty disappointing. its very echoy and almost sounds like the speakers are in another room. this could be the mic on your camera, but thats unlikely since everything else recorded properly. ive never seen people use 'passive radiator speakers' and i strongly recommend against them. im sure thats whats causing the echo youre getting. it changes the frequency of the box, allowing the sound to expand more than it needs to. might as well put your subs into a pair of golashes. and having the tweeters mounted in the same box makes them fight against the subs honestly if you really want this to sound good def put the tweeters into a different enclosure attached to the main box. 2 good coaxials would be very ideal for this build, probably better than subs. if you dont care for bass so much, just pick up a set of components and throw em in there. a really good set goes for 50-80 depending on quality. but yeah, really awesome project and great write up on the parts list. keep it up and make more badass stuff
