  • After my son was born I learned that all women have all their eggs when they are born. What blew my mind on this was I realized that in my wife being two years older than me that for approximately two years both my son and myself were eggs at the same time. To further complicate this I realized that my mother being some 20 years older than me would mean that I've existed as an egg since the end of world war two. 😱

  • Growing up when I have, being born right before the passing of the millennium, something that I've noticed as I've grown older is that: history is cyclical, and as technology progresses, as we find new ways to relay information to others, as we find new ways to pass the time and entertain ourselves, the cycle grows tighter. The more we know, the more we change, and the more we change, the more we know, and once we can know more in a lesser period of time, we change more in a lesser period of time. This cycle will only continue because once we know more, we can invent more, we can change more, and we can educate one another more.

  • 24:30 i just heard a Tolkien interview. He said (roughly) that the elves are based around the idea of what a human aspires to be: more intelligent, more fair (as in beautiful), basically immortal, with more culture, etc. He also said that as one acquires more intelligence and culture, one is able to do more things, in doing them in less time, the same as if one could do more things if one had more time. Does this mean that intelligence replaces immortality? Will we ever become so developed as a species that we won't fear death anymore, for we will be able to achieve all that we propose ourselves? Will we be, in a way, immortal?

  • proportion time theory is a hypothesis based on speculation. psychologists like to dabble in often false speculation, pushing it as reality, so their life's work--a book--sells more. some of what is being presented may have some truth alas, some of it merely rings true to a portion of the audience. most likely, perception of time is not a universal formula that applies equally to everyone, no matter the circumstances. the information swamp of recent tech innovations can seem to make anything older than a week, really old news. yet, traumatic events in youth, can carry a sentence of re-living the trauma for decades, as if it was yesterday.

  • I theorized the proportion theory in my head while driving, wondering why all old people drive so slow and badly. Its because time seems to flying by and everything is moving too fast for them, coupled with their mental deterioration. Time is truly perceptive dependent on the current clock speed of the brain maybe.

If he put the notifications on this will give a us a chance of him pinning this comment or is he? Because you see popular people tend to get alot and I mean alot of messages giving the chance of seeing this comment very very slim or wait it's even more slim considering I typed this comment after 2 weeks when Michael is busy or into something else also doubles the chances of not seeing this comment. I will see you next time and as always thx for seeing this comment

  • I have bipolar disorder with psychosis and during manic/psychotic episodes my perception of time gets extremely fucked. Obviously the psychosis itself can fuck with my perception of time as it happens, but some of the worst is after the fact, like what happened 30 minutes ago can feel like yesterday, and what happened yesterday can feel like it happened a week ago, and what happened a week ago can feel like it happened 3 days ago. Obviously sometimes I have full blackouts, but even weirder some times I have just absurd amounts of deja vu, almost like a reverse blackout. Given that my perception of reality in general can be so drastically off and even include visual, auditory, and tactile hallucinations, I guess the fact my perception of time is so wonky makes sense too, but idk I wonder what is happening on a psychological/scientific level w all of that
